I started my private practice after returning from NYC, where I graduated from NYU with high honors, numerous academic scholarships, and many accolades. I feel so fortunate to have found a career that I love, and cherish! My practice came about in the form of an epiphany one day, as I sat on the AIDS unit in NYC as a volunteer. As I listened to a man share his story, I realized that he had not been celebrated for his many talents, but had been ostracized for having AIDS. This is the philosophy I live by daily. I have cultivated several specialties, including individual, couples and family work. After working in palliative care/ hospice, I have now focused on adolescent treatment, including helping to avoid self-injurious behaviors, suicidal gestures and substance abuse. I continue to work with several single mothers with numerous mental illnesses as well. I have a broad spectrum of specialties. I've worked with the elderly, helping the client cope with the onset of a fatal illness, thus bereavement is unique to my practice. However, I also treat teens, young single mothers, as well as couples grappling with myriad issues. |
